We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what data the TELOS IPTV App ("App") collects, how it is used, and what rights you have in this regard.

2. Our Core Principle: We Only Provide the Player
TELOS IPTV is a player application for Android, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV (Amazon Appstore), iOS, LG webOS and Samsung Tizen smart TVs. We do not provide any media content, streams, playlists, or subscriptions. The App is designed to play content you already own from your IPTV provider. You, the user, are responsible for the content and login credentials you add.
3. What Data We Collect and Why
3.1 Data Provided by You
-
IPTV Login Credentials: This includes the server URL, username, and password for your IPTV provider (e.g., M3U URL or Xtream Codes API).
- Purpose: This data is essential to connect to your IPTV provider and display the content you are subscribed to.
- Storage: This data is stored securely on your device. In plain text it never leaves your device (the only exception, in encrypted form: Section 3.4).
3.2 Automatically Collected Usage Data
-
Watch History, Favorites and Watchlist: The App stores which channels, movies and episodes you watched (with playback position), your favorites and your watchlist.
- Purpose: Convenience features like "Continue Watching", "Recently Watched" and favorites.
- Storage: This data is stored only locally on your device. It is not sent to us and not synchronized between your devices. If you sign in to a TELOS account in the iPhone and iPad app, only your profile details (profile name, color, kids profile yes/no, age limit) are matched with the account. The apps for Android, Android TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, LG and Samsung currently do not match profiles with the account; history, favorites and watchlist stay on the device.
- Retention: Until you remove the entries in the app or through the operating system’s app-data controls. Signing out of a TELOS account does not automatically delete these local entries.
- Device and App Information: We collect basic technical information about your device and app version (e.g., device model, operating system version) for troubleshooting and optimization. Once a day the App also sends a technical installation report (Section 3.7).
-
Diagnostics and Crash Reports:
- iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android and Android TV: Crash reports go to Firebase Crashlytics and usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase (Google, see section 5). These may include technical error reports, stack traces, device and operating-system details, app versions, installation and app-instance identifiers, and usage events such as app starts and sessions. On iPhone and iPad, additional events describe setup, the first visit to the home and purchase screens, and purchase attempts. These details help us fix problems and improve the App.
- Amazon Fire TV (Amazon Appstore): Depending on the app version, crash reports and usage statistics go to Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (Google). From version 1.0.12 (build 14), both services are enabled by default when no choice has been saved; a saved choice to turn them off remains effective. Older versions using the consent rule keep diagnostics off unless you explicitly enable them. Details are in Section 3.6.
- LG (webOS) and Samsung (Tizen) TVs: In versions containing technical diagnostics, the App sends playback and error events to our own server admin.telosiptv.com, not to Firebase. These include app version, platform and a coarse operating-system description, technical error codes and cleaned error messages, stream format, content type without names, and coarse loading-time classes until playback starts, and a random session identifier created at each app start. The events contain no account, device or installation identifier and no channel or title names. The daily installation report (Section 3.7) is separate from them and contains the device identifier. In LG versions from 11.5.27 containing this change and corresponding new Samsung versions, technical diagnostics are enabled by default when no choice has been saved. Earlier versions are not changed by it. Additional usage statistics and measurement of app startup duration are not part of these technical diagnostics.
- Purpose: diagnosing and fixing crashes and playback errors, improving the App's stability across device configurations, and evaluating app usage to improve usability. Additional usage statistics for LG and Samsung are not part of the technical diagnostics change described here.
- Route and storage on the TVs: The connection to admin.telosiptv.com runs through Cloudflare; the server is hosted by netcup (see section 5). Cloudflare technically processes your IP address in doing so; our server accepts connections only through Cloudflare. Our web server logs every request with time, requested address, status code, amount of data transferred, the referring page if any, and the app and device identifier (user agent); the sender address recorded there is Cloudflare's server address, not your IP address. When receiving these events, our server keeps for one minute a hash value derived from your IP address to limit requests per minute. In our diagnostics database we store only hourly or daily counts of the playback events per app version, operating system version, event, content type, format, classification number, start-time class and error code – without IP address, session identifier or error text. From these counts we additionally forward reports on error events (kind of error, playback error code, app and operating system version, count, hour) to an error monitoring service (GlitchTip) that we operate ourselves on our own infrastructure, reachable through Cloudflare – likewise without IP address, device or session identifier, or error text. The App's other requests to our server are handled differently, for example the license check at start-up, and this also applies when diagnostics are switched off: here our server takes your IP address from Cloudflare's forwarding. It stores the address together with the user agent, the time, the request method and the requested address in an application log; depending on the request, the requested address also contains the App's device identifier. The IP address transmitted in the most recent license check is also stored with your TV's record.
- Retention: According to Google, Firebase Crashlytics retains crash reports for 90 days. Counts in our diagnostics database, the reports derived from them in the error monitoring service, web server logs and application logs are regularly removed after a defined retention period. The device record, including this IP address, is deleted after the retention period since its last connection has elapsed, provided no licence is assigned to it and no subscription protects it from deletion. The record is retained while either link exists. If the TV app cannot send a report, it keeps at most 20 events in the App's storage on the device and tries to send them at the next start, provided diagnostics are still switched on then.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in detecting and fixing crashes and playback errors. For older Fire TV versions using the consent rule, your consent applies instead (Section 3.6).
- Content of the reports: The TV apps' reports contain no fields for credentials, server addresses, or channel or title names; free-text error messages are automatically cleaned of recognisable addresses and credentials, shortened to 200 characters before sending, and not stored on our server. Crash reports sent to Firebase Crashlytics contain the stack trace of the crash; what else Firebase Crashlytics collects is described by Google at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- Default and disabling collection: On Android phones and Android TV, crash reports and usage statistics are enabled by default when no choice has been saved. You can turn both services off in Settings under “Crash Reports & Statistics” (phone) or “Diagnostics” (Android TV); a saved choice to turn them off remains effective. On Fire TV, this default applies from version 1.0.12 (build 14), see Section 3.6. On iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, both services are also enabled by default; in App Store versions, you can turn them off under “Privacy & Data › Send Diagnostics”, and the choice applies immediately. In LG versions from 11.5.27 containing this change and corresponding new Samsung versions, “Settings › Data & Storage › Send diagnostic data” turns technical diagnostics off; a saved off setting remains effective and previously held events are not sent when collection is re-enabled. A transmission already in progress may still complete. TestFlight exception: Pre-release versions distributed through Apple’s TestFlight collect crash, diagnostic and usage data even when the switch is off. The ability to turn collection off in App Store versions does not apply to these test versions. These switches do not affect the daily installation report (Section 3.7).
3.3 Use of This Website (Google Analytics 4)
- What: When you visit telosiptv.com, Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID
G-75SSLXWBE6) records page views, time on page, scroll depth, clicks on outbound links, approximate location (country and region, derived from the IP address), device type, browser and operating system. It sets cookies (_ga,_ga_*) that recognise your browser on a later visit. - Purpose: Audience measurement — understanding which pages are read and how visitors arrive. No advertising, no sale of profiles, no linking with data from the App.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in running and improving this website. We do not ask for consent and show no cookie banner. You may object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR, contact details in section 1).
- How to switch it off: Through your browser settings (block or delete cookies), through a content blocker, or with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Storage: Event and user data are deleted after 14 months (property setting). According to Google, Analytics 4 does not store the IP address; it is only used to derive the approximate location.
- Recipient: Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC.
3.4 Support Backup of Your Provider Connection (TELOS Account Only)
- What: The server address, username and password of your IPTV provider, plus the profile name and the time of the backup. No channel lists, no stream addresses, no device identifier.
- How: The app encrypts this data on your device with libsodium
crypto_box(X25519, XSalsa20-Poly1305) for the public key of our support and uploads only this encrypted copy. Our web server and our database cannot read it. It can only be opened by a separate support tool outside the web server, whose private key is kept separately; every opening is logged. Unencrypted, we only transmit the app version, the platform and an error class alongside it. - Purpose: So that our support can help you when your connection stops working, for example after switching devices or if you have lost your login details. The copy is only opened in a support case and, as a rule, only within a time window that you authorize (at most one hour). Any exception requires the approval of a second, named person and is logged separately.
- When: Automatically, as soon as you are signed in to the app with a TELOS account. Without an account, no copy is created.
- Turning it off: In the app under Settings → Support backup. When it is off, nothing more is backed up and any existing copy is deleted.
- Retention: The copy is deleted automatically no later than 90 days after it was first stored; a new backup does not extend this period. If you turn the feature off, it is deleted immediately.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in being able to help you effectively with connection problems. You can object at any time by turning the feature off.
- Recipients: The encrypted copy is stored on our server; our hosting and network providers (see Section 5) only ever see the encrypted data.
3.5 Device Identifier and Licence Check at App Start
- What: A device identifier: on Android, Android TV and Fire TV a random identifier generated by the app; on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV the identifier the operating system assigns for this vendor; on LG TVs the TV-assigned device identifier (LGUDID); on Samsung TVs the TV's device identifier (DUID, or the serial number as a fallback); together with device type, platform, app version and your IP address at the time of the request. No name, no e-mail address, no credentials of your IPTV provider.
- When: Every time the app starts and after a purchase, the app asks our server for the status of this device.
- Additional technical information: Depending on the app version and platform, the existing licence or subscription check may also transmit the operating-system version and app build number, where available. Our server admin.telosiptv.com associates these details with the device identifier. This functional request is separate from diagnostics and is not switched off by the diagnostics setting.
- Purpose: Checking trial period, subscription and licence, blocking devices used for abuse and, in a support case, switching on additional diagnostics for exactly this device.
- Storage location: On our server at netcup in Germany (see Section 6); the connection runs through Cloudflare.
- Retention: The device record is deleted after the retention period since its last connection has elapsed, provided no licence is assigned to it and no subscription protects it from deletion. The record is retained while either link exists. The IP address is updated during a subsequent licence or device-status check.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of the user contract (trial, subscription, licence); for blocking abuse Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in abuse-free operation.
3.6 Fire TV Version (Amazon Appstore)
For the version of TELOS IPTV Player for Amazon Fire TV (package name com.telosiptv.player.tv), offered through the Amazon Appstore, the other sections of this policy apply unless stated otherwise here. The differences:
- Diagnostics depend on the app version: From version 1.0.12 (build 14), the Fire TV version uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting and Firebase Analytics for usage statistics by default when no choice has been saved. Diagnostics may include stack traces, device and operating-system details, installation and app-instance identifiers, and usage events. You can turn both services off or on under “Data & privacy › Diagnostics”; a saved choice to turn them off remains effective. Older versions using the consent rule continue to keep both services off unless you explicitly enable them. The new default does not retrospectively change those older versions.
- Legal basis and withdrawal: For older Fire TV versions using the consent rule: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future by switching diagnostics off again in the settings; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out until then. The retention period at Firebase Crashlytics is as described in Section 3.2.
- Content of the reports: Crash reports contain no login credentials and no server information; the app cleans them accordingly before sending. Otherwise Section 3.2 applies. The app triggers no analytics events of its own; only the data that Firebase Analytics collects automatically is recorded, together with an app instance identifier. The advertising identifier is not used.
- Connection to our service: Regardless of diagnostics, the Fire TV version connects to admin.telosiptv.com over HTTPS. What is sent there is the random device identifier (a UUID the app generates itself; it is not a hardware identifier) and app version. Once a day the installation report from Section 3.7 is added. Depending on the app version, the additional technical information described in Section 3.5 may also be sent; there, the request serves to match device status and access rights. In versions with TELOS+, the activation described in Section 3.9 is added after a purchase. Only if you act yourself, the following are added: the categories and text of feedback you submit through the feedback form. The feedback form does not ask for an email address; please do not enter login credentials or other personal data in the free text.
- Your IPTV provider's login credentials: The server address, username and password leave the device only towards the provider server you enter yourself and, if you have set an HTTP proxy, through that proxy. They are not sent to us. The support backup described in Section 3.4 is not active in the Fire TV version, and signing in with a TELOS account is not possible there.
- Purchases and advertising: Fire TV versions without TELOS+ contain no in-app purchase. Versions with TELOS+ handle the purchase exclusively through Amazon In-App Purchasing (Section 3.9), never through Google Play Billing. The Fire TV version contains no advertising. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Children: The Fire TV version is listed for all age groups and has a kids profile: an adult decides which categories are visible in it, and a parental PIN protects leaving the kids profile. The app collects no contact details such as name, email address or postal address and no location; profile names stay on the device. The diagnostics default depends on the app version; from version 1.0.12 (build 14), collection is enabled when no choice has been saved and can be turned off in Settings (see above), and the app contains no advertising. All content comes from the IPTV provider you enter yourself; we provide no content. If you are a parent or guardian and want to see or delete data of your child, please write to the address in Section 7.
3.7 Installation Report (Once a Day)
- What: Once a day the app sends a technical installation report to our server admin.telosiptv.com. It contains a device identifier (on Android, Android TV, Fire TV, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV the same one as in Section 3.5, on LG and Samsung TVs a separate one, see below), the platform (Android, Android TV, iPhone and iPad, Apple TV, LG webOS or Samsung Tizen), the source the app came from (for example Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Meta Quest, App Store, TestFlight, LG Content Store, Samsung store or direct installation; “unknown” if the source cannot be determined), device manufacturer and model, the operating-system version, the app version, the app language currently in use, the screen resolution in pixels and, on Android, Android TV, Fire TV, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, the device memory (rounded down to 256 MB) and whether it is a real device or an emulator or simulator (for LG and Samsung TVs see below). The report contains no account, no credentials and no server addresses of your IPTV provider, no channel or title names, no watch history and no advertising identifier.
- When: After the app starts, at most one successful contact within 24 hours. If the transmission fails, the app tries again later, no earlier than one hour. On Android, Android TV and Fire TV coming back to the foreground also counts, with at most four attempts within 24 hours; on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV the interval grows up to six hours. For LG and Samsung TVs see below. The report does not delay the start of the app.
- Purpose: We want to know on which devices, platforms and through which stores the app is actually installed, so that we can align support, compatibility and product planning with it, for example which screen sizes, system versions and memory sizes we need to support. We evaluate the reports as counts. They do not control any licence, blocking or purchase decision and grant no rights in the app.
- LG and Samsung TVs: The installation report carries a random identifier the app creates only for this report (128-bit random) and stores on the TV; it is not derived from the TV's serial number or any device identifier. It also contains the platform (LG webOS or Samsung Tizen), the store, the TV model, a coarse system version, the app version, the app language and the screen resolution reported by the TV – no memory size and no device class (always “unknown”). The report is sent no earlier than 30–60 seconds after start, at most one attempt per app start and at most one successful contact per day. You find the identifier in the app under Settings → About → Installation ID; send it to us so we can delete the matching entry.
- Independent of diagnostics: This report is separate from crash reports, usage statistics and technical diagnostics (Section 3.2). It is also sent when you have switched those off in the settings, and it cannot be switched off in the app.
- Storage location: On our server at netcup in Germany (see Section 5); the connection runs encrypted (HTTPS) through Cloudflare. The report goes only to our own server, not to Firebase, Google, Amazon or Apple.
- IP address and logs: As with any connection, your IP address is technically visible to Cloudflare and our server. It is not part of the report itself and is not stored in the table of installation reports. Our application does not log this report with your IP address or app identifier (user agent). For the web server's access log and the per-minute request limit, the statements in Section 3.2 (“Route and storage on the TVs”) apply.
- Retention: We delete the entry automatically 24 months after the last contact from this installation (daily deletion run). If you uninstall the app, it stops reporting; the entry then remains until this period has elapsed.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in knowing on which devices and through which sources the app is installed, and in aligning support, compatibility and product planning accordingly.
- Objection and erasure: You may object to this processing under Art. 21 GDPR (contact details in Section 1). You can request deletion of your entry through our deletion page; please tell us the device identifier of your app when you do so.
3.8 Usage Flows on Android and Android TV
Our own server receives fixed codes for app screens and setup steps, the end of a session and the stage reached. We use these records to identify where setup or use is interrupted and which app versions are affected. The transmission includes app and operating-system information, a device identifier and a session identifier. If a stored device identifier changes, the previous identifier may also be transmitted to associate a reinstallation. These identifiers are pseudonymous; this processing is not anonymous.
This data flow does not contain free-text search queries, playback URLs or IPTV credentials. It is separate from Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics. On Android and Android TV, including Amazon Fire TV, it is enabled by default. You can disable it using the diagnostics switch in the app settings. The app then stops collecting new funnel events and removes events that have not yet been sent from its buffer; a transmission already in progress may still complete. This switch does not stop the installation report described in Section 3.7.
- Storage location: On our server admin.telosiptv.com at netcup in Germany (see Section 5); the connection runs through Cloudflare.
- Retention: Events and session-end totals are deleted after 90 days. Device-level records, including any link to a previous identifier, are deleted automatically 24 months after the last contact from the device (daily deletion run). Switching the flow off does not immediately delete data already stored; it is removed when these periods have elapsed.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in identifying where setup or use is interrupted and which app versions are affected.
- Objection: You may object to this processing under Art. 21 GDPR at any time by turning off the diagnostics switch in the app settings.
3.9 In-App Purchases on Fire TV (TELOS+ through the Amazon Appstore)
In Fire TV versions that offer TELOS+, you can buy TELOS+ as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a one-time purchase (Lifetime). The following applies:
- Payment through Amazon: Purchase and payment are handled exclusively by the Amazon Appstore. Amazon is independently responsible for this; Amazon's privacy notice applies. We do not receive payment data such as card details, bank details or billing address. From Amazon, the app only receives the details of the purchase: a receipt identifier, the user identifier Amazon assigns to your Amazon account (no name and no email address), the purchased product and the purchase status.
- Purchase verification through RevenueCat: To verify purchases and manage the subscription status, we use RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) as a processor (see Section 5). The following is processed: an anonymous app user identifier that RevenueCat generates in the app, the receipt identifier and the Amazon user identifier, the product identifier, the purchase or subscription status (for example start, expiry, renewal or cancellation), technical information about the app and device (platform, app and operating system version, language setting) and the IP address when the connection is made. RevenueCat verifies the receipt with Amazon. The app connects to RevenueCat when you purchase, when you restore purchases and to check the subscription status; this can also happen when the app starts.
- Activation through our server: After a purchase, the app sends the product identifier, the receipt identifier and the Amazon user identifier together with the device identifier from Section 3.5 to admin.telosiptv.com. Our server checks the purchase status with RevenueCat and stores the resulting entitlement for this device.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of the contract for TELOS+.
- Retention: The entitlement remains stored on our server for as long as it exists, i.e. permanently for TELOS+ Lifetime; after that, the periods from Section 3.5 apply. RevenueCat stores the purchase data on our behalf for the duration of our contract with RevenueCat. Your rights under Section 7 remain unaffected.
3.10 In-App Purchases through Google Play (Android, Android TV)
In Android and Android TV versions that offer TELOS+ through Google Play, you can buy a monthly or yearly subscription or make a one-time purchase (Lifetime). The following applies:
- Payment through Google Play: Google Play handles the purchase and payment as an independent controller; Google's privacy policy applies. We do not receive card or bank details or your billing address. For purchase verification, the app receives in particular the product identifier, a purchase token and the purchase status.
- Purchase verification through RevenueCat: RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) processes purchase data on our behalf (Section 5). Our server issues a pseudonymous
store_account_idto associate a device and its purchases. The app uses it to log in to RevenueCat, where it becomes theappUserID. It is not a randomly generated anonymous purchase identifier from RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes this identifier, the purchase token, product and subscription status, as well as technically necessary connection details such as the IP address and app and device information. RevenueCat checks the purchase with Google Play. The app may also contact RevenueCat at startup, when restoring purchases or when checking the subscription status. - Activation through our server: The app sends the purchase token and product identifier over an encrypted connection to admin.telosiptv.com. Our server checks the purchase with Google Play and associates the entitlement with the server-issued identity and device identifier described in Section 3.5. If a purchase has not yet been confirmed because of a network error, the app may keep an encrypted pending record on the device for a later check.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of the TELOS+ contract.
- Retention: The entitlement remains on our server for as long as it exists; a Lifetime entitlement has no fixed expiry date. After that, the periods in Section 3.5 apply, unless a legal retention duty requires otherwise. RevenueCat stores purchase data on our behalf for the duration of our contract with RevenueCat. Your rights under Section 7 remain unaffected.
4. What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or other personal contact information (unless you contact our support).
- The content of your playlists.
- Precise location data (GPS or network triangulation). This website derives an approximate location (country and region) from the IP address for audience measurement — see section 3.3.
- Data from other apps, your contacts, or photos.
5. Sharing Data with Third Parties
We do not share your data with third parties, except for technical service providers who assist us in providing the App (netcup for server hosting, including the diagnostics of the TV apps and the installation reports; Cloudflare for DNS, attack protection, delivery of this website and forwarding the apps' connections to admin.telosiptv.com, which technically involves processing your IP address; Google Firebase for crash reporting and usage statistics, which in older Fire TV versions using the consent rule run only with your consent; the new default applies from version 1.0.12 (build 14), see section 3.6; and the website audience measurement described in section 3.3; RevenueCat for purchase verification and subscription status management for purchases through Google Play (Android and Android TV, see section 3.10) and the Amazon Appstore (Fire TV, see section 3.9)) and who are contractually obligated to protect your data.
Amazon Appstore: The Fire TV version is offered through the Amazon Appstore. Amazon handles purchases of TELOS+ as an independent controller (Section 3.9). In versions without a purchase, we process no purchase data there.
Transfers to third countries: Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC are based in the United States. Both are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (participant list: dataprivacyframework.gov); for transfers to these two companies to the United States we therefore rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR). RevenueCat, Inc. is also based in the United States; for this transfer we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), which RevenueCat provides in its data processing agreement.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Connections from the App to our servers (account, licence, purchase, diagnostics, installation report) are encrypted using TLS/HTTPS. Login credentials are stored in the encrypted app storage of your operating system; in plain text they are never transmitted to our servers (encrypted support backup: Section 3.4).
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): You can request information about the data we process about you at any time.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You can request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You can request deletion of your data, provided no overriding retention obligations exist.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): You can request that we restrict the processing of your data under certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): You can request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest at any time.
- Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to file a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at: support@thenocompany.org
